By analysing a set of thunderstorm-induced events acquired on the Italian north-west coast, separation relevant wind velocity signals into time-varying mean and residual fluctuation is considered. It assumed that, within structural design process, former used for quasi-steady evaluation aerodynamic loads latter to estimate dynamic response. A procedure based continuous wavelet transform proposed obtain its outcomes are compared with those different moving average techniques.
